BREXIT!

British exit " Brexit " is the withdrawal of the united kingdom from the European union "EU". On 31 January 2020 at 11 pm, UK officially left the EU in which 52% voted to leave and 48% to remain that held by a referendum in June 2016. After the announcement of the formal exit, transition period began following months of negotiating and set to end on 31 December 2020. Dramatic changes could happen on many aspects including football.

The English premier league known as "the best league in the world" which has many famous and historic teams compete furiously to win titles and bring best players internationally. Brexit could affect the transfer market and the ability to bring those players by limiting it specially from EU members like France, Spain and Germany. Players under the age of 18 will no longer be signed by English clubs.

The FA are expecting the Brexit will help to reduce the number of foreign or non-homegrown players and increase the number of english players in the premier league but the lack of development for english players under 21 might be a huge concern.

The consequences of this withdrawal could damage the global picture of the premier league, putting their clubs in difficult situations regarding recruiting European players and also financially. Additionally, creating more problems for clubs who struggle to success that eventually will need potentialed overseas players.

As well as the impact on the competitiveness of the EPL has across Europe could be one of the threatening scenarios. Meetings are holding with Premier League clubs and FA hopefully to reach a reasonable agreement that will not damage the EPL's prospects.

A spokesperson of the Premier League illustrated that they agree with the FA that Brexit should not damage the England team's prpapects or the success of the league by continually work together to reach an outcome which enhannces the attraction of the Premier League, while guaranteeing best homegrown talents persist to improve and develop.
